On the morning of February 20, 2025, at Hall 105 – Block G, Hoa Khanh Nam, the Faculty of Language and Social Sciences (NN-XHNV) at Duy Tan University hosted the workshop “The Emotional Journey in Music” with the participation of a large number of students and faculty members.

A highlight of the workshop was the presence of guitarist Lương Xuân Thịnh, an artist who has dedicated his passion to exploring and conveying the emotional nuances through each guitar string.

When Music Becomes the Language of Emotions

In modern life, emotions play a vital role in both personal and social development. Particularly, music is not just an art form but a medium that allows people to connect with themselves and the world around them. Understanding this, the Faculty of LHSS at Duy Tan University organized this workshop to help students discover the power of music in expressing and regulating emotions.

The workshop had the honor of welcoming artist and lecturer Luong Xuan Thinh, Head of the Jazz Guitar Department at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. He is not only a talented and dedicated guitarist but also a key contributor to teaching and inspiring others in the field. He is the founder of the Harmony of Sunshine organization, where music serves as a bridge for people to listen to and understand each other better.

Connecting Through Music – A Gateway to Genuine Emotions

The event began with an opening speech by Dr. Hoang Thi Huong, the Acting Rector of the Faculty of LHSS. Following that, artist Luong Xuan Thinh delivered a captivating guitar performance, allowing the audience to directly experience the powerful role music plays in reaching deep emotions.

The core of the workshop was a talk by artist Luong Xuan Thinh on the emotional journey in music, the stories behind each melody, and how music can become a tool for expression, healing, and inspiration.

Artist Luong Xuan Thinh emphasized: "Learning is playing with knowledge, and playing is practicing what you’ve learned" – Whether it's learning or playing, they are essentially the same. Both are about living. Everything we think, everything we create, tells our own stories and makes learning as effortless as play. By engaging in this, we can unleash all our creative potential.

The workshop “The Emotional Journey in Music” provided a creative space where music is not just about notes, but about connection, sharing, and harmony of emotions. It also gave students the opportunity to engage more deeply with the arts, explore themselves, and find new inspiration for their studies and lives.

The event concluded with a photo session, marking a morning full of emotions and meaning. This workshop not only gave the youth a fresh perspective on music but also encouraged them to open up more to their own feelings.
