About the School of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences

1. History and Establishment

With the mission of educating highly qualified professionals to meet the needs of the Central and Central Highlands regions in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and foreign languages, the School of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences (LHSS) was officially established on March 25, 2022, under Decision No. 15/QĐ-ĐHDT-HĐT issued by the Chairman of the University Council of Duy Tan University.

The School was formed through the merger of six academic faculties: the Faculty of English, Faculty of Chinese, Faculty of Korean, Faculty of Japanese, Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.

These faculties bring together diverse academic strengths and years of educational experience. Among them, the Faculty of English has more than 26 years of development, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities has 15 years, the Faculty of Law has 7 years, the Faculty of Chinese has enrolled three cohorts of students, while the Faculty of Korean and the Faculty of Japanese have each enrolled one cohort prior to the establishment of the School.

The School of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences (LHSS) is home to a dedicated and highly qualified team of faculty and staff. Approximately 40% of its academic staff hold the rank or degree of Associate Professor or Ph.D., while the remaining 60% hold Master's degrees, ensuring high-quality teaching, research, and academic guidance.

The School currently enrolls more than 4,300 undergraduate students and nearly 30 master's students across a wide range of disciplines, including English Language, Japanese Language, Chinese Language, Korean Language, Applied Literature (Journalism), International Relations, Multimedia Communications, Economic Law, and Law.
