INTRODUCTION


Duy Tan University's School of Foreign Languages was officially established in September 2020 with the task of training at 3 levels: PhD, Master and Bachelor for languages: English language (English), Chinese language (Chinese), Korean language (Korean) and preparing to open Japanese language (Japanese).

Currently, the university has 3 foreign language training courses: Faculty of English, Faculty of Chinese, Faculty of Korean and Faculty of Japanese .  The predecessor of the Foreign Language School was the Department of Foreign Languages of Duy Tan University, which was established in September 1997.Through many years of foreign language training, due to the requirements of society, the faculty has been constantly developing, the number of teachers and students is increasing; thus formed 3 separate facultys and was named the Institute of Languages.

Due to the development requirements of Duy Tan University, striving to become a university with a larger scale and the prestige of the university is deepening in society; Duy Tan University decided to become Duy Tan University consisting of 5 member universities of Duy Tan University.  The School of Foreign Languages currently has 3 departments:

- Faculty of English
- Faculty of Chinese
- Faculty of Korean
- Faculty of Japanese

Currently, the school is doing the necessary work to open a Japanese language major.The training objectives of the departments are to train foreign language staff in the fields of Translation, Interpretation, Tourism and Pedagogy to serve foreign agencies, international cooperation, domestic and foreign enterprises and many other fields.

Every year, the university enrolls hundreds of students from all parts of the country, especially foreign students who come to study (at the Korean language department).The university's 4-year training scale is over 3000 students.  The school's teaching staff has 53 teachers.Especially, 3 staffs in 3 departments have Doctoral degrees.Specifically as follows:

- Number of lecturers who are PhD: 8
- Number of lecturers who are Masters: 53
- Number of lecturers in postgraduate study: 11

Regarding scientific research:

Most lecturers in the university participate in annual scientific research with scientific research works at the faculty, school level and ministry level; in addition, the test banks for subjects. Some lecturers regularly write newspapers participating in national and international workshops (PBL) and have had articles entered into Scopus.Although it was only an initial success, this is a solid foundation for the development of scientific research of the school of foreign languages later.

Especially every year, lecturers also guide students to do scientific research topics as a basis for developing the academic ability of students later to study for higher levels of master's and doctoral degrees.

Job opportunities for students:

Up to now, the total number of students trained at Duy Tan University's Foreign Language School is: 95% of students have got jobs, many alumni have achieved quite high positions in the job.
