Recognizing the importance of this cooperative relationship, with solidarity, friendship, cooperation and development, creating a favorable environment for promoting culture, language and education; Giving recommendations to the authorities of the two countries, on the morning of October 13, 2023, the scientific seminar "Vietnam - Japan: Relationship process - Achievements and prospects" organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Department of Japanese, School of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences, Duy Tan University took place at the seminar room at 13 - 03 Quang Trung - Da Nang. This is a practical activity in a series of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973 - 2023).
Attending the program were Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori - Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, and his colleagues. On the side of Duy Tan University, there was the participation of PhD. Nguyen Huu Phu - Vice Rector of Duy Tan University Rector of Agriculture and Social Affairs, PhD. Hoang Thi Huong - Permanent Vice Rector of MARD, representatives of leaders, lecturers of faculties, departments and scholars and scientists from many schools and institutes in Vietnam.
Opening remarks, PhD. Nguyen Huu Phu shared: "I would like to thank Mr. Yakabe Yoshinori and the scientists for their interest, submission and attendance at today's workshop. I hope that in the future, the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Japan in general and the link between DTU and partners in Japan in particular will be even stronger."
Over 50 years of nurturing and building, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan has been constantly strengthened and developed comprehensively in all fields, becoming a bright spot in the implementation of the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance and diversification, multilateralization of international relations of the Party and State of Vietnam. The workshop aims to clarify the factors leading to the sustainable development of the relationship between Vietnam and Japan over the past 50 years, including historical, economic, commercial, cultural and educational factors,... The workshop also contributed to promoting friendship and cooperation in training and scientific research in the field of social sciences and humanities between Vietnam and Japan, an opportunity for domestic and foreign scholars to meet, exchange and learn from each other in scientific research activities on issues related to Vietnam-Japan relations.
PhD.. Hoang Thi Huong said: "The Organizing Committee hopes that, through the content of the presentations and opinions exchanged, it will contribute to the development of policies, mechanisms and institutions to effectively promote the good relationship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Japan, in the coming time, the success of the workshop will continue to be extended and expanded. We have extensive and effective relationships with universities, large corporations of your country. Currently, Duy Tan University has a Department of Japanese Language training in Japanese language, Vietnamese-Japanese Research Institute ...; The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities also offers a bachelor's degree in International Relations - Japanese language program and especially Duy Tan is ready to welcome Japanese students to study our Vietnamese studies".
After a period of preparation, more than 40 scientific presentations were sent to the Organizing Committee of the workshop. Studies have shown a multidimensional picture in the two-dimensional relationship between countries, the process is long, diverse and rich in fields. The workshop program took place in 2 sessions:
- The first session: Vietnam - Japan relations contemporary issues over the past 50 years
- The second session: Vietnam-Japan relations: historical markers and cultural-linguistic issues - law.
The workshop took place excitingly with two discussion sessions and listened to 8 key presentations and many discussions and comments to share the enthusiasm and responsibilities of scientists, research units and universities nationwide. The presentations reviewed the past and assessed the present, while also offering directions to help develop Vietnam-Japan relations closer together in the future.
