The Order of the Rising Sun: International Recognition for the Head of the LHSS Japanese Language Faculty


In the latest announcement from the Japanese government regarding the list of individuals to be awarded with imperial decorations for foreign nationals, the academic and educational community of Vietnam in general, and the University of Languages and Social Sciences (ULSS), Duy Tan University in particular, proudly received significant news. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Ha, Head of the Japanese Language Faculty, ULSS, Duy Tan University has been awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, one of Japan's most prestigious decorations.

The Order of the Rising Sun is a distinguished honor bestowed by the Emperor of Japan upon individuals with outstanding achievements in the fields of international relations, cultural promotion, and environmental preservation. The Japanese government's decision to award this order to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Ha is a well-deserved recognition of her tireless contributions in promoting cooperative relations, friendship, and mutual understanding between the peoples of Vietnam and Japan.

Throughout her career, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Ha has not limited herself to the role of an educator; she is also a profound researcher of Japanese language and culture. She has devoted her heart and mind to building bridges of knowledge, helping Vietnamese youth access the essence of the "Land of the Cherry Blossoms" in the most systematic and humanistic manner. In 2021, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Ha was also honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs for her contributions over more than 40 years.
