To broaden learning opportunities and foster connections, the Japanese Language Department at Languages and Social Sciences School (LHSS) has sent two students to an exchange program at Jissen Women’s Univerisity Japan. The selected students, Nguyen Thi Kim Anh and Phan Thi Kim Tuyen, are second-year students majoring in Japanese Translation and Interpretation.

Located in Tokyo, Jissen Women’s University was founded in 1899 by Utako Shimoda, a pet and advocate for women’s education. With over 120 years of history, the university is celebrated for its excellent teaching and welcoming environment that supports student’s growth in every way.

The four-month program, running from April 1 to Joly 31, 2025, offers students a chance to study and dive into Japanese culture in a modern academic setting. Both students will enjoy free dormitory housing and a 100,000-yen scholarship per semester (5 months), allowing them to focus an learning and cultural experiences.
Nguyen Thi Kim Anh shared: “The courses here have boosted my listening and speaking skills, helping me feel more confident in interviews. I’m so thankful to my teachers for guiding me to this incredible opprtunity. I’ll work hard to learn, gain new experiences, and share Vietnamese culture with friends from around the world.”

The program helps students improve their Japanese, embrace local culture, and develop skills for living in a global environment. It equips them with professional knowledge, opens their minds, an prepares them for future careers. It’s also a platform for these students to shine, adapt, and show the world the energy and confidence of Vietnamese youth.
