On the afternoon of September 6, 2025, the Korean Culture Festival and the Final Round of K-Culture Battle 2025 - a Korean Speaking and Korean Culture Contest - took place at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. The event was co-organized by Gyeonggi University of Science and Technology (Korea), Saigon Polytechnic College, and Duy Tan Educational Organizing Company.
Amid the festival's vibrant atmosphere, Tran Thi Tuyet Nhi (K29NHB4) - a student from the Korean Language Faculty of the School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences (LHSS) at Duy Tan University (DTU) - excellently won the Consolation Prize in the K-Speech category (Korean speaking contest). This award recognizes Tuyet Nhi's continuous efforts in practicing her foreign language skills and affirms the confidence of DTU students when competing on a major stage.
This year, K-Culture Battle attracted nearly 200 contestants from 10 universities, 2 colleges, 5 high schools, and many independent contestants nationwide. After two online and in-person qualifying rounds, 67 outstanding contestants advanced to the final round to compete in three categories: K-Speech (Korean speaking contest), K-Pop (Korean singing contest), and K-Dance (Korean dance contest). The K-Speech category requires contestants to demonstrate their language proficiency, logical reasoning, and presentation skills in Korean.
With a timely topic, Tuyet Nhi impressed the judges with her natural speaking style, accurate pronunciation, and expressiveness. Despite participating in a national-scale competition for the first time, Nhi remained calm, commanded the stage, and left a beautiful impression on the audience.
Sharing her feelings after the competition, Tuyet Nhi emotionally said: "Coming to K-Culture Battle, I not only had the chance to improve my Korean skills but also to interact and make friends with many young people who share the same passion. This award will be my motivation to keep striving, refining my language skills, and aiming for higher achievements in the future."
During her time at the university, Tuyet Nhi has actively participated in numerous activities to enhance her skills, especially creating many opportunities to interact in Korean with lecturers and international students. Notably, in the recent "Blue Ladder 2025" project, Tuyet Nhi took on the role of Korean MC for a series of side activities, connecting the Korean student delegation with many meaningful project events.
Tuyet Nhi's achievement is not only a source of personal pride but also contributes to affirming the training quality of the Korean Language Faculty at the LHSS, Duy Tan University. It is also evidence of DTU students' serious learning spirit, creativity, and international integration. In the coming time, the Korean Language Faculty will continue to accompany and create more opportunities for students to test themselves in international academic and cultural playgrounds, spreading the passion for Korean and enhancing Vietnam-Korea friendship exchanges.
