Dieu Linh Makes Her Mark in the Top 10 DTU Student Ambassadors 2025

After overcoming numerous challenges, the top 10 outstanding contestants have officially made it to the Final Round of the DTU Student Ambassador competition. Dang Ngoc Dieu Linh (K29 Multimedia Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, School of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences) surpassed many candidates to secure a spot in the top 10.

Announcing the Top 10 Contests

Dieu Linh shared: "This is my first time participating in an academic competition at the university, and also the first time I've dared to try my hand at a contest like the DTU Student Ambassador. I first learned about this competition two years ago, when I was about to enter my freshman year. At that moment, I had the desire to participate, but I also realized that I wasn't ready. I promised myself I would take a year to learn, improve my skills, and come back the following year, which is this year." As a second-year student in Multimedia Communication, Dieu Linh has maintained excellent academic performance over the past three semesters, with a very high GPA. Although she currently doesn't hold any official English proficiency certificates, her professors have praised her for her good English accent, clear and natural delivery, which is a strength in her Speaking skills. Impressed by her voice and competition video from the preliminary round, Linh continued to showcase her talent in Round 2 – Group Projects.

The Semi-final round took place on the morning of April 4, 2025, with 16 contestants divided into 4 groups. Each group developed a creative community project related to one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or an urgent social issue. The contestants had about two weeks to complete their group projects. Dieu Linh said, "Our group selected three presenters and two critics to match the content. I was one of the three presenters and volunteered to cover nearly 50% of the speech. Although I was a bit nervous, I tried my best to present well and coordinate smoothly with my group members. During the critique section, the judges asked all four members to answer questions, which was outside our original strategy. I was a little panicked because I hadn't prepared for this part, but I did my best to answer thoroughly, maintaining a 'smooth' delivery, even though the content didn't fully satisfy the judges. Although our group was praised for good teamwork and coordination, our project didn't stand out as much as the others. I thought the chances of advancing were slim even while still in the exam room."

The exciting performances and impressive displays created a vibrant and emotional competition. "When I saw the announcement on the fanpage and found my name in the Top 10, I felt overwhelmed with emotion. I was so surprised and happy. Even more special was that all four members of my group made it to the Top 10, which made us feel even more grateful for our efforts being rewarded," Dieu Linh expressed.

The Final Round of the competition will take place on the afternoon of April 22, 2025. Teachers and students, please stay tuned and show your support for Dieu Linh!
