A Launchpad for Global Integration: 15 LHSS Students Participate in the Cultural and Language Exchange Program in Taiwan

On June 15, 2026, a delegation of 15 outstanding students from the Chinese Language Faculty, University of Languages and Social Sciences (LHSS), Duy Tan University, officially departed for Taiwan (China). The students will participate in a 2-month international student exchange program (from June 15 to August 14, 2026) at Tzu Chi University. This is a strategic cooperation activity, opening up high-level learning opportunities in an international environment for LHSS students.

This academic exchange program is the result of a sustainable and meaningful international partnership signed between the Chinese Language Faculty (ULSS, Duy Tan University) and Tzu Chi University. The core objective of the project is to provide students with an ideal "real-combat" language training environment, enhance their academic capabilities, and create conditions for them to directly explore local culture while expanding their worldview of the people and society of Taiwan.

This exchange model affirms the strategic orientation of the University of Languages and Social Sciences in continuously connecting with reputable educational organizations worldwide. The university consistently strives to create solid launchpads, helping students not only excel in theory within lecture halls but also quickly adapt to multicultural working environments and global integration trends after graduation.

Throughout their 2-month stay at Tzu Chi University, the 15 LHSS students will experience a rich schedule of learning and activities. In addition to intensive language classes taught by local expert faculty, students will have opportunities to interact and work in teams with an international student network from various countries.

Notably, the program also incorporates distinctive traditional cultural experiential classes, helping students gain a deeper appreciation of the spiritual life of the island. In the first few weeks, the LHSS student delegation was introduced to and explored the traditional tea ceremony art of Taiwan. Through each lesson on tea selection, brewing techniques, tea appreciation, and understanding the humanistic values embedded in each cup of tea, students had the opportunity to absorb the core beauty of Eastern culture – a reverence for etiquette, compassion, the spirit of sharing, and refined, philosophical approaches to daily life.

The journey goes beyond merely enhancing professional knowledge and foreign language skills; each member of the delegation also carries the pride of being "student ambassadors." They bring with them the mission to connect, introduce, and promote the image of a dynamic, confident, and proactively integrative generation of Duy Tan University students to international friends.

Sharing his emotions and expectations for this special journey, Doan Manh Truong – a representative of the student exchange group – shared: "Setting foot at Tzu Chi University is a significant milestone in my youth. The initial bewilderment quickly faded as we received a warm welcome from the faculty and friends here. The tea ceremony sessions and group discussions in class not only significantly improved my Chinese proficiency but also taught me how to open my heart, understand, and respect cultural differences. We will study diligently to both build our personal assets and proudly represent the dynamic image of Duy Tan students on foreign soil."

The learning and experiential journey in Taiwan continues with many rewarding activities ahead. Wishing the 15 "student ambassadors" of the Chinese Language Faculty will always maintain their passion, gain abundant valuable knowledge, make new friends, and cherish the most memorable moments at Tzu Chi University!
