On the afternoon of August 27, 2026, Duy Tan University, in coordination with the Institute for Asia-Pacific Studies (under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences – VASS), successfully organized an International Scientific Conference themed: "50 Years of Vietnam-Thailand Relations: The Journey toward a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership." This was a collaborative effort initiated by the Faculty of International Relations and Public Relations, University of Languages and Social Sciences, Duy Tan University.

The conference was organized to review the landmark achievements over half a century of diplomatic relations between the two nations, while also unlocking new momentum to elevate the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to new heights. The event brought together a large number of diplomatic experts, scientists, business representatives, as well as faculty and students.
In their opening remarks, representatives of Duy Tan University's leadership and the Institute for Asia-Pacific Studies affirmed the profound significance of the 50-year journey. This has not only been a path of diplomatic milestones but also a process of forging solidarity, strategic trust, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries across multiple fields—from economics and culture to ASEAN connectivity.

Opening the professional program, Dr. Hoang Thi Huong presented an important keynote report titled "50 Years of Vietnam-Thailand Relations: From Historical Lessons to New Drivers of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," setting a foundation and providing inspiration for the in-depth discussion sessions. The conference's working program proceeded intensively and effectively with three main discussion sessions:
- Session 1: Vietnam-Thailand Relations: Achievements after 50 Years of Development – Reviewing prominent development milestones and comprehensively evaluating bilateral cooperation achievements across political, economic, and people-to-people exchange pillars.
- Session 2: Vietnam-Thailand and the ASEAN Process – Focusing on analyzing the core roles of the two countries in promoting intra-bloc solidarity, building a strong ASEAN Community, and enhancing regional connectivity.
- Session 3: Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership: Implementation Status and Prospects – Delving into the current implementation of high-level cooperation agreements while proposing breakthrough solutions to seize new opportunities amidst the evolving regional and international landscape.

In his closing and summary remarks, Dr. Phan Chi Thanh acknowledged and highly appreciated the presentations and insightful contributions of the scientists and experts. The success of this International Scientific Conference not only affirms Duy Tan University's academic standing but also makes a practical contribution to strengthening friendly relations, aiming toward a future of sustainable development and shared prosperity for the Vietnamese and Thai peoples.
