On September 10, 2026, the 2026 Vietnam-Korea International Literary Exchange Festival for students majoring in Korean Language in Vietnam took place successfully. At this event, students from the Korean Language Faculty, University of Languages and Social Sciences, Duy Tan University, excellently inscribed their names on the achievement leaderboard in the Literary Translation category.
The event was organized by the Ickchon Gildongmu Cultural Foundation in coordination with the University of Foreign Languages – University of Da Nang, with direct sponsorship from the Korean Literary Translation Institute. This was a large-scale cultural and academic exchange forum, attracting a large number of Korean language major students from leading training institutions in the Central region, including: Duy Tan University, University of Foreign Languages – Hue University, University of Foreign Languages – University of Da Nang, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), and Dong A University.
At the festival, students from the Korean Language Faculty (DTU) had the valuable opportunity to meet and interact directly with a delegation of famous writers and poets from the Land of Kimchi. Sincere sharing about creative thinking, artistic inspiration, and cultural depth from international authors not only expanded the knowledge starting line but also fueled the passion for literary appreciation, strongly inspiring Korean Language Faculty students on their path of pursuing the Korean language.
Within the framework of the Festival, the Korean Literary Translation competition was an academic playground demanding high professionalism, where students not only needed to be proficient in grammar and vocabulary but also had to possess a rich vocabulary, a deep understanding of culture, and keen sensitivity in translating complex literary works.
Having undergone rigorous judging rounds from a panel of translation experts and Korean writers, students from the LHSS Korean Language Faculty excellently surpassed a host of formidable contestants from universities in the region to bring home highly proud awards:

1 Second Prize: Student Tran Thi Tuyet Nhi (Prize: 150,000 KRW)

1 Third Prize: Student Ngo Truc Quynh (Prize: 50,000 KRW)
Sharing after receiving the Third Prize at the competition, Truc Quynh expressed: "Returning to the cultural-academic playground after the Consolation Prize back in March, I was truly surprised and happy to win the Third Prize in Translation this time. The process of completing the exam helped me realize that the foundational knowledge from the Introduction to Translation-Interpretation course to the advanced translation skills systematically taught at the Korean Language Faculty is the golden key. Thanks to the dedicated guidance of my teachers, I not only gained greater linguistic sensitivity but also confidently affirmed the capability of Duy Tan students at major playgrounds."
This success will continue to be a great source of motivation for generations of Korean Language Faculty students to nurture their passion, continue refining their expertise, and reap even more brilliant achievements on the journey of conquering knowledge ahead.
