Chinese for Tourism
1. Program Objectives
The Chinese for Tourism program is designed to prepare graduates with the following competencies:

Acquire a solid foundation of general education and disciplinary knowledge in Chinese Language Studies.

Understand and apply the fundamental principles of Chinese phonetics and phonology, enabling students to continuously improve their pronunciation and interpreting skills.

Master the core concepts of Chinese semantics and develop semantic analysis skills that can be effectively applied to translation and interpreting tasks.

Understand the relationship between language and culture, enabling effective communication in intercultural environments.

Demonstrate strong proficiency in Chinese, with well-developed skills in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.

Gain comprehensive knowledge of tourism, travel services, and international tour operations to complement their Chinese language expertise.

Develop a sound understanding of Chinese culture, economy, history, and geography, enabling them to work effectively with Chinese individuals, organizations, and businesses.
2. Career Objectives
Graduates of the Chinese for Tourism program are well prepared for a wide range of career opportunities, including:

Positions in hotels, restaurants, resorts, tourist attractions, and travel companies, serving as tour guides, front office officers, marketing executives, customer service representatives, conference and event coordinators, or tour planners and managers for domestic and international travel agencies.

Translator or Interpreter for Chinese enterprises, multinational corporations, and organizations working with Chinese partners.

Marketing, event management, international trade, or administrative specialist in organizations and businesses where Chinese is used as a working language.
