Students enrolled in the Japanese for Tourism program develop proficiency in all four Japanese language skills—Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing—while acquiring professional translation and interpreting competencies. In addition to gaining comprehensive knowledge of Japan, its people, and its culture, students study tourism-related subjects such as the fundamentals of tourism and travel, hospitality management, accommodation services, and tour guiding and tour operations. Alongside professional knowledge, students also develop essential workplace competencies, including communication, presentation, and information technology skills.

The Japanese for Tourism program aims to prepare graduates who are able to:

Acquire a solid foundation of general education and disciplinary knowledge in Japanese Language Studies.

Understand and apply the fundamental principles of Japanese phonetics and phonology to continuously improve pronunciation and spoken communication.
