Japanese Translation and Interpreting

Japanese Translation and Interpreting

Program Overview

Proficiency in Japanese is an essential requirement for professionals seeking careers with Japanese companies and organizations. However, language proficiency alone is not sufficient. To perform effectively in professional environments, graduates must also possess strong translation and interpreting skills together with a thorough understanding of language, culture, and specialized fields.

Recognizing the growing demand for highly qualified Japanese translators and interpreters as Vietnam continues to expand international cooperation and attract foreign investment—particularly from Japan—Duy Tan University has developed the Japanese Translation and Interpreting program to prepare students for successful careers in this increasingly important profession.

Translation and interpreting are language-based professions that require not only advanced linguistic competence but also extensive knowledge of specialized fields to ensure that the target language accurately conveys the meaning and intent of the source language.

At the Faculty of Japanese Language, students receive comprehensive training in the Japanese language, Japanese culture, and professional translation and interpreting. The curriculum enables students to master advanced language skills while integrating specialized knowledge, preparing them to become competent and professional translators and interpreters.

Upon graduation, translators and interpreters serve as vital linguistic and cultural bridges, facilitating effective communication by accurately translating documents and interpreting conversations between Japanese and Vietnamese.
