Aiming to enhance training quality through the close integration of academics and practical experience, the Korean Language Faculty, University of Languages and Social Sciences (LHSS), Duy Tan University, in collaboration with Jeonbuk National University (South Korea), organized the Capstone Design Project. The program runs from August 23 to August 25, 2026, opening a meaningful forum for cultural exchange and academic creativity for students of both nations.
The project brings together the participation of 9 lecturers and 35 students from the Korean Language Faculty, along with 7 lecturers and 10 students from research institutes under Jeonbuk National University. Participating students from both universities are divided into 7 mixed research teams (each team consisting of 3-5 members including both Vietnamese and Korean students), under the direct guidance and support of paired faculty members from both institutions.
The core content of the project revolves around exploring and comparing a rich array of cultural and social topics between Vietnam and South Korea across three main areas:

Culture & Tradition: Teams focus on comparative studies of traditional holidays (Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival); traditional alcohol culture and cuisine; and the essence of traditional martial arts (Taekwondo and Vovinam).

Arts & Creativity: Exploring the beauty of traditional kites; and the similarities and differences between Korean folk paintings (Minhwa) and Vietnamese Dong Ho folk paintings.

Communication (Writing & Symbols): Understanding traffic sign/signage systems and the art of dynamic script expression through brushstrokes.
Prior to the fieldwork and direct working phase in Da Nang, students from both sides participated in online training sessions and prepared group content from early August 2026. Immediately following the International Conference themed "Roots, Memory, and Solidarity: Recovering Identity and Promoting Social Inclusion," the teams officially entered the sprint phase of project implementation. The most significant highlight of the activity series was the Final Report Conference and Capstone Design Project Awards Ceremony. Here, the competing teams will present their complete research products and reports—results of cross-border teamwork and unique creative thinking.
The Capstone Design Project is implemented with the purpose of creating a practical learning environment, promoting direct interaction between Korean Language Faculty students and students from the research institutes of Jeonbuk National University—one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in South Korea. Through group research activities, the program not only helps students refine their professional skills, foreign language proficiency, and project thinking but also provides an excellent opportunity to promote Vietnam's distinctive cultural values to international friends. Furthermore, the event continues to affirm the strategic and sustainable cooperative relationship between the University of Languages and Social Sciences, Duy Tan University, and its Korean educational partners.
