The KF Friends Networking 2026 National Scientific Conference held in Da Nang was the result of a series of proactive international cooperation efforts by the Korean Language Faculty, University of Languages and Social Sciences (LHSS), Duy Tan University. Sponsored by the Korea Foundation (KF) and professionally coordinated with the Korean Studies Association of Vietnam (KRAV), the conference themed "Korean Language Education and Korean Studies in Vietnam: Current State of Social Supply and Demand" was a resounding success, gathering a large number of experts and scientists from across the country.
Alongside the robust development of Vietnam-Korea cooperative relations, the field of Korean language training and Korean Studies in Vietnam has made significant strides in both scale and quality. Recognizing the responsibility of training linked to social reality, the Korean Language Faculty (ULSS) proactively facilitated and served as a bridge to bring this prestigious national-level academic forum, KF Friends Networking 2026, to Duy Tan University. The conference was not only a gathering of major training institutions nationwide but also an opportunity for the Korean Language Faculty to affirm its bridging role, promoting stronger ties between the university, international academic foundations, and the business community.
The program was honored to welcome distinguished delegates and special guests: Mr. Woo Hyung Min – Director of the KF in Vietnam, Mr. Han Jungil – Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Da Nang, Dr. Luu Tuan Anh – Chairman of the Korean Studies Association of Vietnam (KRAV). Representing Duy Tan University were Dr. Tran Nhat Tan – Vice Director of Duy Tan University, Dr. Hoang Thi Huong – Acting Dean of LHSS, Dr. Dang Thuy Lien – Vice Dean of LHSS, along with faculty leadership, scientists, and lecturers from universities and academies offering Korean language training nationwide.
Throughout the plenary sessions and parallel thematic discussions, the conference focused on in-depth exchanges and critical analyses revolving around three main pillars:
- Quality Shift and Adaptation to New Technologies: Delegates analyzed the overall picture of the development journey from breadth (scale of learners) to depth (quality of output) in the Korean Studies field in Vietnam. Notably, the conference emphasized the proactive application of modern technology, particularly generative AI, in teaching to enhance self-learning capabilities and develop language skills for students in the digital age.
- Strengthening Supply-Demand Links and Training Standardization: Many dedicated opinions focused on the challenge of connecting university output standards with the actual needs of the labor market and Korean enterprises. International-standard online training models, notably the KF Global e-School program, were evaluated as effective directions for standardizing curricula and optimizing teaching resources.
- Multilateral Cooperation and Sustainable Development Directions: In specialized panel sessions, scientists and lecturers proposed solutions to respond to societal changes, strategies for establishing a unified curriculum framework, and mechanisms for sharing research data among Korean language training universities nationwide.
These discussion contents serve as valuable practical data for the Korean Language Faculty (LHSS) to continue improving its training programs, aligning with the high-quality standards sought by society.
