English for Tourism
1. General Objectives
-
To educate graduates of the English for Tourism program who possess comprehensive knowledge, professional competencies, ethical values, political awareness, professional conduct, and good health, enabling them to work effectively in English-speaking professional environments and meet the demands of society and the globalized economy.

To provide students with a broad foundation in the English language, as well as British and American culture, society, and literature.

To develop students' English communication skills to a proficient level for effective interaction in common social and professional contexts.

To equip students with the professional knowledge and practical competencies required to perform effectively in tourism-related fields, including business, hospitality, hotel operations, front office services, and other tourism sectors.

To foster effective learning skills that enable students to pursue lifelong learning, continuously improve their language proficiency and professional expertise, and develop an initial capacity for research in tourism language, tour operations, and related fields.
2. Specific Objectives
2.1. Knowledge
Graduates of the Bachelor of English in Tourism program will acquire comprehensive knowledge of the English language, including:

English vocabulary for tourism, hospitality, restaurants, and culinary services;

Vietnamese culture and civilization;
-
British and American culture;
-
British and American literature;
-
English–Vietnamese and Vietnamese–English translation and interpretation in tourism, hospitality, restaurant, and culinary contexts.
Students will also gain specialized knowledge and practical skills in tourism, including:

Tour guiding operations;
-
Restaurant management and operations;
-
Tourism marketing;
-
Human resource management in tourism;
-
Front office operations;
-
Tourism resources and destination management.
2.2. Skills
2.2.1. Problem-Solving Skills
Upon graduation, students will be able to:

Communicate effectively in English in common social and professional situations.

Demonstrate proficient English listening and speaking skills that meet the language requirements for positions such as front desk staff, tour guides, and tour operators.

Use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, proficiently.

Deliver effective public presentations and communicate confidently in both English and Vietnamese.

Solve practical problems encountered in tour guiding, front office services, and tour operation management.

Front Office Officer at hotels, resorts, and hospitality establishments.

Executive Assistant to department managers in hotels and tourism organizations.

Executive Assistant to senior managers or directors.

Marketing Executive for tourism businesses and tourism development projects.
In addition, graduates possess strong English communication and professional skills that enable them to pursue a wide range of career opportunities in organizations and enterprises requiring highly competent English-speaking professionals, even if they choose not to work directly in the tourism industry.
