In the context where social sciences and humanities researchers face international publication pressures and the role of social sciences and humanities research needs to be re-evaluated in the current period, aiming to update trends and share valuable experiences in research and international publication, the School of Language - Social Sciences and Humanities (LHSS) and the Center for Global Studies (CGS) at Duy Tan University are organizing a training workshop for lecturers titled "Advancing Scientific Research in the Field of Social Sciences and Humanities" on December 28, 2024.
Attending the program will be Dr. Hoang Thi Huong - Vice Principal of the LHSS, Dr. Truong Tien Vu - Head of the Science and Technology Department at Duy Tan University, along with numerous esteemed faculty members and interested students.
A special guest and speaker at the program is Dr. Le Van Ut - Assistant to the Chairman of the School's Research Council at Van Lang University. Dr. Ut is a leading expert in scientific measurement and research governance policy. He serves as the Chair of the Research Ethics Committee, organizes many training courses supporting international publication, and develops the SARAP research group, contributing to enhancing research capacity at the university. Currently, he is leading the research on the ranking of research publication achievements of Vietnamese universities in the first half of 2024, with results acknowledged by the public.
The main content of the workshop is to help scientists and lecturers of Duy Tan University update the trends and challenges in Social Sciences & Humanities (SSH) research, as well as share practical experiences and research development solutions. Dr. Le Van Ut discussed issues regarding research development policies, legal foundations for research development in higher education institutions, and the value of research for higher education institutions. Additionally, he presented scientific publications in the field of SSH, methods for identifying new research topics, reputable scientific journals in this field, scientific citation methods, strategies for developing scientific research in SSH, and issues related to research integrity control.
The workshop not only created a space for researchers, lecturers, and students to engage in academic exchange but also played a significant role in promoting the development of this scientific field. The results from the workshop will serve as a foundation to advance SSH research in the future and help create practical solutions for increasingly complex issues in modern society.
