Students from LHSS compete in the final round of the 3rd Law Talent Competition, 2024


Following the success of the 2nd Law Talent Competition with the theme "Chat GPT and the Legal Profession in 2023" for law training institutions across the country, on June 29, 2024, the final round of the 3rd Law Talent Competition, 2024, with the theme "Protecting Citizens' Rights in the Digital Age," was held enthusiastically. The event was co-organized by the University of Law, Hue University, and FDVN Law Firm. After nearly three months of preparation and organizing preliminary rounds, six outstanding teams reached the final.

The team from the Law Faculty, University of Languages and Social Sciences (LHSS), Duy Tan University, excellently won the Encouragement Award, 1st Prize in the online round, and the Best Style Award.

Alongside the team from the Law Faculty, LHSS, Duy Tan University, five other teams from law training institutions participated, including: the University of Law, Hue University; the University of Law, Hanoi; the Law Faculty, Vietnam Women's Academy; the Law Faculty, University of Economics, Da Nang University; and the Law Faculty, Can Tho University.

The University of Law, Hanoi, won 1st place in the competition. Duy Tan University was one of the supporting institutions for the competition.

In 2024, the competition featured an online video performance round and two main live rounds: a quiz round and a debate round. With the theme "Protecting Citizens' Rights in the Digital Age," this issue is not only current but also crucial for the development of modern society. For law students, protecting citizens' rights is always a top concern, not just for themselves but also for their families, friends, and vulnerable people in society.

The team from LHSS participated in all rounds. The team included Mai Dong Sun - K27LTH2, Truong Thi Tuyet Phuong - K26LKT2, Nguyen Thi Truong Yen - K27LKTHP, Thai Thi Cam Ly - K29LKTHP, and Cao Chan Nguyen - K29LKT3.

After the quiz and debate rounds, the organizers announced the winners in various categories, with a total prize value exceeding 50 million VND. The Law Faculty team from NN-XHNV, Duy Tan University, won the Encouragement Award, which included a 1,000,000 VND cash prize, a 6-month subscription to an LMS for legal English from sponsor Harvey&Morris, and a 6,990,000 VND scholarship for the Corporate Law course from ICA Law Academy. Additionally, the team received an internship opportunity at FDVN Law Firm offices nationwide. The team also won the Most Favorite Award in the online category. Furthermore, student Thai Thi Cam Ly was awarded the Best Style Award.

As a first-year student participating in a major competition for the first time, Cam Ly shared, "I am very happy and honored to represent the school in this competition. As a first-year student, I was nervous and worried, but with encouragement from my teachers and senior students, I became calmer and more confident. Receiving the Best Style Award was a huge surprise. I have learned so much from the teachers and seniors, and the experience from this competition is a valuable asset for my personal development in the upcoming years."

The competition concluded successfully, with deserving awards for the hard work and preparation of the teams over the past three months. The "Law Talent Competition" not only provided an opportunity for students to practice, hone their legal skills, and showcase their talents and knowledge, but it also served as a platform to find creative and effective solutions for protecting citizens' rights in the increasingly digitalized world.
