Seminar on Using Ho Chi Minh’s Ideas in Today’s Economy and Politics

On May 18, 2025, Duy Tan University’s University of Languages and Social Sciences (LHSS) held a lively seminar called “Applying Ho Chi Minh’s Ideology in the Current Economic-Political Context.” The event was part of nationwide celebrations for the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth.

It aimed to help students and faculty better understand Ho Chi Minh’s ideas and apply them to improve their political awareness, personal values, and behavior in both online and real-life settings.

Dr. Hoang Thi Huong, Standing Vice President of LHSS, spoke at the event. She said, “Ho Chi Minh’s ideas give students a strong foundation to understand life, see issues clearly, and overcome challenges.

Thinking correctly leads to good actions, and good actions lead to success. Students don’t need to be politicians, but they should understand politics—the policies, rights, responsibilities, and global events that shape their lives. Without this knowledge, it’s easy to be misled, misunderstand freedom, or lose rights while supporting harmful ideas in disguise.”

The seminar featured three expert speakers with deep knowledge of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology:

  • Dr. Nguyen Mau Linh, Head of the Ho Chi Minh Ideology Department, Academy of Politics Region III, Da Nang;
  • Dr. Nguyen Van Duong, Head of the Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities, LHSS, Duy Tan University;
  • M.A. Nguyen Mau Minh, Secretary of the Division Party Committee and Head of the Political Theory Department, LHSS, Duy Tan University.

These speakers shared clear, practical insights about applying Ho Chi Minh’s ideas today. Students had the chance to ask questions, share their views, and discuss with the experts, encouraging active and creative learning.

The seminar wasn’t just about academics—it showed a fresh way of teaching Ho Chi Minh’s ideas at Duy Tan University. It made the lessons relatable and useful for everyday life, helping students build strong values and civic skills.

The event was serious yet welcoming, leaving a lasting impact on everyone. It was a meaningful way to honor Ho Chi Minh’s legacy and inspire today’s youth to follow his ideas, ethics, and example.
