LHSS students were honored on the occasion of the Vietnamese Student and Student Union Day.


In accordance with the Youth Union and Student Union Plan for the 2023-2024 academic year, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Student Union at Duy Tan University organized the 74th Anniversary Celebration of Vietnam Students' and Pupils' Traditional Day (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2024), during which outstanding individuals and groups from the 2022-2023 academic year were honored and rewarded. Students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Social Sciences (FLSS) were recognized and rewarded in several categories.

Ms. Le Thuy Hien Nguyen, a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Student Union at Duy Tan University and a student in the Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities, received a Certificate of Merit from the Central Vietnam Student Union. Thuy Hien shared, “This is the second time I’ve been honored at the program celebrating Vietnam Students’ and Pupils’ Traditional Day and the Vietnam Student Union. I have been involved in the Youth Union and Student Union work at the university since 2021, and through this, I have participated in many meaningful activities. I feel proud of myself and would like to express my gratitude to the Youth Union and Student Union for giving me the opportunity to contribute and dedicate my youth to the university community."

The university also awarded prizes to 5 outstanding students in academics and personal development for the 2022-2023 academic year from the Faculty of Foreign Languages & Social Sciences, including: Thi Tu Trinh Vo (Department of Chinese), Le My Luyen Pham (Department of English), Thi Ngoc Nhat Ngo (Department of Korean), Nhu Thuy Ngan Vo (Department of Japanese), and Thi Minh Nhan Trinh (Department of Social Sciences & Humanities). Additionally, students and groups that won awards in international, national, regional, and local competitions were also honored, including: Third Prize in the National English Olympics in Central Vietnam, First Prize in KPOP Dance at the Korean Language and Culture Festival, First and Third Prizes in Kumite Team at the Da Nang Karatedo Championship, Second Prize in the Photo Contest "Say: Study at Yeungnam," Third Prize in the Central Highlands – Central Region Chinese Singing Festival, Third Prize in the 2023 Korean Speech Contest, and Encouragement Prize in the National Chinese Public Speaking Competition.

The 2022-2023 academic year continued to be a successful year for the "Five Good Student" movement at Duy Tan University, with 51 students receiving the "Five Good Student" award at the city level. In the Faculty of Foreign Languages & Social Sciences, students Thi Ngoc Na Tran (Department of Chinese) and Thi Tuyet Phuong Truong (Department of Law) earned this prestigious title at the city level. Additionally, eight students from the faculty were awarded the "Five Good Student" title at the university level.

Throughout the past academic year, the departments, faculties, and youth organizations at Duy Tan University achieved many successes in youth union and student activities, completing their assigned tasks excellently. Among them, four individuals from the Faculty of Foreign Languages & Social Sciences were recognized for their outstanding contributions in youth union and student activities during the 2022-2023 academic year: Thi Truong Thi Tran, Deputy Secretary of the English Department's Youth Union; Tuan Vu Hoang, Secretary of the Chinese Department's Youth Union; Ho Thanh Thang Le, Secretary of the Japanese Department's Youth Union; and Ho Minh Quan Bui, Secretary of the Law Department's Youth Union.

The university’s student clubs and youth organizations also achieved significant results in student union activities, completing their tasks excellently. The Student Union awarded prizes to 16 groups, including: the English Department Student Union, the Chinese Language Club, the English Language Club, and the JC Chance Journalism & Communication Club. Furthermore, 30 outstanding individuals from various clubs were also honored, including: Thi Giang Sinh Hoang (Head of the Communication Committee, Chinese Language Club), Thi Thuy Hang Do (Chairwoman, Chinese Language Club), Phan Phi Anh Ho (Chairwoman, JC Chance Journalism & Communication Club), Ngoc Lan Chi Nguyen (Vice Chairwoman, JC Chance Journalism & Communication Club), Khanh Huyen Tran (Vice Chairwoman, Duy Tan English Club), Le Thuy Hien Nguyen (Member of the Executive Committee, Duy Tan University Student Union), and Thi Men Ly (Head of the Law Faculty Student Union).

With these recognized achievements, students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages & Social Sciences and student organizations are determined to continue their efforts and bring even greater results to the university in the future.
