On the morning of December 12, 2024, Duy Tan University had the honor of welcoming the Delegation of the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam. This event attracted a large number of students and faculty members from the School of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences (LHSS), particularly garnering interest from students majoring in International Relations.

Attending the program were Mr. Shawn Steil – Ambassador of Canada to Vietnam, Mr. Leigh McCumber – Advisor (Politics and Public Relations), Mr. Noah Schiff – First Secretary (Politics), Mr. Long Wu – First Secretary (Trade), Ms. Trang Vu – Public Relations Officer, and Mr. Thanh Dinh – Trade Commissioner. Representing Duy Tan University were Dr. Le Nguyen Bao – Director, Dr. Hoang Thi Huong – Permanent Vice Rector of the School of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences (LHSS), along with other staff, lecturers, and students from the LHSS.

Representatives of the Canadian Embassy Delegation in Vietnam expressed their pleasure in participating in the session and emphasized that Vietnam and Canada share a long-standing, sustainable cooperative relationship in various fields such as trade, education, and culture.

The program not only created an opportunity for cultural and academic connections between students and representatives from Canada but also opened up a space for in-depth discussions on the topic "Indo-Pacific Strategy and its Impact on Enhancing Canada's Participation in the Region and in Vietnam." The event served as a forum for students to ask questions, engage in discussions, and gain a deeper understanding of international strategic issues.

International Relations students also listened to presentations about the cooperative programs and initiatives that Canada is implementing in Vietnam, including development support programs, cultural exchanges, and educational exchanges. This not only created academic and career opportunities for Vietnamese students but also promoted understanding and cultural connections between the two countries.

During the event, students from the School of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences (LHSS) demonstrated a spirit of learning and posed many interesting questions surrounding strategy issues, international cooperation, and Canada's role in the Indo-Pacific region.

The discussion session was not only a place to listen and exchange information but also helped students gain a better understanding of international strategies and cooperation opportunities through organizations and countries like Canada. This provided a foundation for students to develop ideas and projects in the future.
