On May 6, 2025, the University of Languages and Social Sciences - Humanities (LHSS) hosted its 2025 Student Research Conference. This yearly event gives students a chance to boost their thinking skills, creativity, and ability to link research to real-life social issues.
The conference welcomed Dr. Truong Tien Vu, Head of the Science and Technology Department at Duy Tan University, Dr. Hoang Thi Huong, Vice President of LHSS, along with faculty leaders, department heads, and students.
In her opening speech, Dr. Hoang Thi Huong said, "In today’s digital world, where AI is everywhere, social sciences and humanities research must keep up. At LHSS, students and teachers are using digital tools, big data, and AI to study language, culture, media, and social behavior. This makes research broader and more accurate."
During the 2024-2025 school year, LHSS students completed 26 research projects. Faculty reviews showed these projects improved greatly, offering strong academic quality and practical solutions for issues in language, culture, society, media, and humanities education.
From these, the organizers picked 13 top projects to present at the conference. They were split into two groups: Social Sciences and Foreign Languages. These projects stood out for their creativity and careful research, showing great potential.
After expert reviews, three projects were chosen to move on to the Economic-Social Sciences Conference on May 15, 2025:
1. Topic: Responsibility for Damages in International Sales Contracts
2. Topic: How ChatGPT Affects Self-Study of English Speaking Skills for English Majors at Duy Tan University
3. Topic: Language Features in English and Vietnamese Rap Lyrics
The Student Research Conference is more than just a showcase of achievements. It’s a celebration of the hard work, passion, and dedication of students and faculty. The event provides an open space for students to share ideas, show their analytical and presentation skills, and learn from each other through their love for research.
