On the morning of October 5, 2023, the Opening Ceremony and Competition of the first qualifying match of the "Gen Z of Quang Region" contest took place in an exciting, jubilant and attractive atmosphere at 3 Quang Trung, Da Nang City. Attending were Mr. Tran Nguyen Minh Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, Chairman of the Education Union of Da Nang City; TS. Vo Thanh Hai - Vice Rector of Duy Tan University together with representatives of 25 contestants and a large number of teachers and students from high schools and continuing education centers in Da Nang city.

Speaking at the opening of the contest, Mr. Tran Nguyen Minh Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training said: "Right from the name of the contest, 'Gen Z of Quang Region' has both imprinted the culture of the region and shown the youthful, dynamic and vibrant nature of young people. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to thank Duy Tan University, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, school units and related units for their efforts, proactive and active response in coordinating with the Department of Education and Training to organize this playground. Hopefully, the 'Gen Z of Quang' contest will give students the opportunity to show their talent, passion and understanding of the history, culture and traditional values of the ancient land of Quang Nam - Da Nang and Danang city today."

Many contests are staged attractively, meaningfully and boldly with students from high schools and continuing education centers in Da Nang city

"Gen Z of Quang Region" is an intellectual playground with many attractive competition contents and the opportunity to receive many valuable prizes for Gen Z. The contest attracted the participation and positive response of 22 high schools and 3 ECCEs across Da Nang city. 25 teams were drawn into 8 groups to win semi-final spots and many opportunities to receive valuable gifts from the Organizing Committee with a total prize of up to 51 million VND.

Vo Thanh Hai - Vice Rector of Duy Tan University shared: "I think that the most important thing when participating in the 'Gen Z of Quang Region' contest is not only the interest in the final result with the winning team but also the process of the teams sharing together, work in a team, learn other important knowledge and skills. On behalf of the leaders of Duy Tan University, he hoped that students from 25 participating units would have the opportunity to exchange, make friends and have the opportunity to foster more love for culture and traditional history of the homeland."

The scope of questions of the contest "Gen Z of Quang Region" focuses on the historical, economic, social and cultural knowledge of the people of Da Nang - Quang Nam and Da Nang today. Each match will consist of 3 teams, competing in 4 sections (after the end, whichever team has more points, that team wins; in case after 4 sections, 2 teams equal points, the Organizing Committee will use sub-questions).

On the first day of the qualifying match, the teams of Group A include: Nguyen Van Thoai High School, No. 2 Continuing Education Center, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School; and Group B including Hoang Hoa Tham High School, Pham Phu Thu High School, Le Quy Don Professional High School have shown the talent and bravery of opponents who are really "equal to talent". Fans who are students from the participating units experienced a range of emotions from nervousness, stress to bursting in the joy of victory and both mixed with regret when the "home team" failed to qualify. At the end of the first day of competition, 2 teams of Nguyen Thuong Hien High School and Hoang Hoa Tham High School excellently won tickets to the semi-final round of the competition.

Nguyen Le Minh Anh - Grade 11/2 of Continuing Education Center No. 2, representing the teams participating in the competition, said: "When talking about the values of history, a great French writer said: history is not a lamp attached to the back of the ship that shows us the way past, but history is a searchlight to the front to show us I know where I'm from. Therefore, learning about the local history, geography and culture will help us understand the place where we were born, grew up and express our deep gratitude and pride in our homeland. The 'Gen Z of Quang Region' contest is a useful playground that not only helps our students understand the local history and culture but also helps us practice other skills such as presentation, eloquence, teamwork,... and definitely the journey of experiencing many new things, leaving many good memories in our student life."

The contest "Gen Z of Quang" will last until 5/11/2023 at Duy Tan University Hall - 3 Quang Trung Street, Da Nang City.
