After graduating with a major in Civil Construction and Industry 18th class, Duy Tan University, Dinh Van Tam has applied and succeeded in the field of fine art sculpture in his hometown of Quang Tri.

Tam is the author of the cat mascot that the online community affectionately named "miss cat". Cat mascot caused "fever" in the online community Exactly a year ago (Tet Nien Gradual 2022), Mr. Tam also received an order from Trieu Phong district government to create a tiger mascot. According to Mr. Tam, in 2022, he carved a large tiger statue with a height of 2.5m and erected on the ledge to increase the natural and majestic look. The tiger, after being put on display, attracted not only local people but also many people who returned to their hometown to eat Tet passing by also visited Le Duan Park in Dong Ha City (Quang Tri) to admire and take pictures. In recognition of the author's talent and enthusiasm, the Chairman of Quang Tri People's Committee awarded a certificate of merit with an amount of VND 20 million. The talented author of Quang Tri is one of many talented alumni of DTU's Construction major. In response to Mr. Tam's ability to show from Tet, the People's Committee of Trieu Phong district has entrusted him to continue implementing the cat mascot for Tet Quy Mao 2023. And in just 10 days, he and his colleagues worked hard to create a three-body cat... pure Vietnamese. The quickly completed cat mascot has a height of 3.1m, a width of 2.2m, a length of 2.8m and a weight of 250 kg from porous substances, plaster and colored coatings.

The cat mascot is sculpted by Mr. Tam, every little detail is taken care of. The biggest difficulty is that the rainy and windy weather affects the construction process and above all, the shaping and shaping with foam in the most natural and realistic way. According to Tam, the cat mascot is made of styrofoam, initially the design was intended to be a mascot with a small size, but later, Tam bought more materials and spent a lot of time to make the mascot bigger with the thought of making the pure Vietnamese cat as splendid and "like" the real cat in real life as possible.

As soon as the cat mascot is transported and placed solemnly in the central square of Trieu Phong district (Quang Tri), it immediately attracts tourists from all over the world to admire. Millions of photos of cat mascots with different angles are posted on social networking sites from Facebook, Zalo to Instagram ... Along with hundreds of high-pitched compliments...

Tam's Quang Tri cat has officially dislodged dozens of cat mascots from other localities in the country. And the online community officially awarded Quang Tri cat mascot as "miss cat" in 2023 Expressing his feelings when his cat mascot is loved, Mr. Tam shared: "I have received a lot of love from tourists both before and after the Lunar New Year 2023.

Many tourists from Quang Tri, Da Nang, Saigon, Binh Thuan, Hanoi, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue ... have met and communicated through social networks to share about the profession, talk about cat shaping in 2023 as well as the cat mascot that I have done. "After graduating from DTU, I was very nervous at first, but then I decided to pursue a career in Fine Arts Sculpture. My peers and I have worked in many places, in different provinces. In fact, sticking to this profession is not only creative, passionate but also predestined.

Although Sculpture and Construction are different, I have applied a lot of knowledge in the lecture hall to work. Typically, grasping the structure, materials, construction organization or basic software in the civil construction industry also helps me a lot when sculpting a work", Mr. Tam said.

In the early days of fine art sculpture, Tam as well as other young people also encountered many difficulties in their career path. But it was that bumpiness that tempered Tam's experience.

The "sweet fruit" that he has achieved after many years of working in the profession is the recognition of the leaders of Quang Tri province and his hometown Trieu Phong district as well as the praise of the people of the whole country when he completed the tiger mascot (Tet 2022) and most recently the cat mascot (Tet 2023).
