International Relations (English, Japanese, Chinese Programs)

As a branch of political science, the study of diplomacy and global issues between countries through the international system, including states, multigovernmental organizations (IGOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and multinational companies (MNCs). Besides politics, international relations is interested in various fields such as economics, history, law, philosophy, geography, sociology, anthropology, psychology, and cultural studies.

Moreover, International Relations also deals with issues as diverse as globalization and the impacts on society and sovereignty of states, ecological protection, nuclear growth, nationalism, economic development, terrorism, organized crime, human security, and human rights... When studying International Relations, students will be provided with basic knowledge about modern world history and politics; knowledge of political science; basic theories and schools in international relations; basic knowledge of international law; mastering Vietnam's foreign policy; understanding of foreign policies of major countries in the world; basic knowledge of world culture and religion; basic knowledge of the organization and operation of international organizations.

The International Relations Department at DTU has been training for more than 15 years with more than 11 graduate courses and is currently training a Master's degree in international relations (enrollment of 2 courses), will continue to train PhD. This is a field of study that many young people are interested in in the current trend of globalization and integration.

The international relations program at DTU provides learners with basic knowledge about history, geography, economics, culture, politics, law development... international; focus on equipping students with skills to access a wide range of fields in dynamic working environments that require high adaptation; especially in foreign language skills. Learners have access to many issues in the hoc program, practical experience, career guidance and especially are always accompanied by leading experts in the field of international relations in many different forms: Seminars, exchanges, experience sharing ...

Currently, DTU's International Relations Training major has 3 programs (English, Japanese and Chinese). This shows that the school has been ahead of the trend of international and regional integration in equipping learners with foreign language skills. In addition to equipping basic foreign language skills such as Listening - Speaking - Reading - Writing as prescribed, International Relations students are also equipped with specialized subjects in English / Japanese / Chinese - this is also smart equipment for learners: not only good at expertise but also capable of international and regional integration.

In addition, we always encourage learners to be aware and improve their self-study ability to better meet the needs of the labor market; Academic advisors always closely monitor the learning situation of each student to have timely support and advice to help them develop their strengths.

To succeed in the field of International Relations, it is necessary to have a number of foreign language abilities and skills, specialized knowledge and the ability to establish relationships: etiquette, negotiation, international cooperation or establish their own relationships with other domestic and foreign partners. Students studying International Relations when graduating with sufficient professional capacity can easily apply for jobs in the following positions:

External relations specialists of State management agencies from central to local levels, ministries and branches; Foreign media work in the positions of editing newsletters, programs, doing reportage, hosting ... in the media industry;

External relations specialists, project coordinators, domestic and foreign trade representatives or trade counselors of Vietnam abroad;
